At its December 7, 2020, Reorganization meeting, the CLSD Board of School Directors announced that Richard S. Dissinger will be the next Athletic Director at Cedar Crest High School. Dissinger succeeds Christopher Groff who accepted the position of Principal of CCHS following the resignation last month of Dr. Nicole Malinoski.

Dissinger has been a Social Studies teacher at Cedar Crest High School for 27 years. He has extensive experience and accomplishments with both community and school athletics. Dissinger was Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team for nine years, earning Section I Coach of the Year honors during two of those seasons (2001-02 and 2007-08) from the Lancaster-Lebanon Boys Basketball Coaches Association (LLBBCA). Fellow coaches elected him as LLBBCA vice president. Dissinger also has served as Head Golf Coach at Cedar Crest for the past 18 years, created the auxiliary parent club for boys basketball programs, and has been an assistant coach for several varsity sports over the years. He is the current Game Manager.

In the community, Dissinger assisted in the creation of the Falcon Youth Basketball Club and serves as its president. He is secretary for Falcon Youth Baseball Association and has directed many youth summer camps, as well as, supervising, coordinating and scheduling youth program activities during the past 20 years. He also volunteers with sports related fund-raising activities, including Free Throw for Cancer Shoot-a-Thon (American Cancer Society), Athletes helping Athletes golf event (Special Olympics), and the Brandon Oblinsky Scholarship.

Dissinger received his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He has continuing education credits in sports management, sports marketing, and current issues in sports from United States Sports Academy.
