Good Afternoon, Cornwall-Lebanon Families,
We are quickly nearing the end of a successful 1st marking period. Due to everyone’s cooperation, we have had minimal disruptions to in-person learning. I have several updates to provide today concerning upcoming items.
At our Board meeting on Monday, the Board of School Directors approved using some of the qualified federal ESSER* funding to provide additional support services for students, including counseling, psychology, and nursing supports. This is over and above the additional contracted supports that were approved in August. We recognize that despite our efforts to provide normal learning environments over the past 18 months, there still is a great need for services for our students. Please share with your family and friends that the District is hiring for these needs and other positions.
The School Board also approved the use of some qualified ESSER funding for after-school and summer enrichment activities for students. Our principals and teachers are currently planning and developing these programs. Additional information will be shared from your child’s school this fall.
Please also note that the PA Department of Health once again has changed their reporting procedures for active Covid-19 cases and close contacts in our schools. Based on this adjusted reporting procedure from the PA DoH, we have updated the Health & Safety Plan FAQs on the CLSD website to align with the new DoH process, effective today. This change will reduce the number of parent notifications that many of our parents are used to receiving.
As always, thank you for your continued support and cooperation during this school year. I look forward to seeing you at some of our many events this fall.
Have a great weekend!
