At its Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, regular public meeting, the Cornwall-Lebanon School District Board of School Directors accepted the resignation of School Board Director Susan Levendoski. Board President Ruth Ann Schlegel thanked Mrs. Levendoski for her service to the Board during the past two years.

Pennsylvania School Code* requires the Board to act to fill her vacant seat “from the qualified electors of the district within thirty (30) days.”

Therefore, the CLSD Board of School Directors announces that any interested resident of the District who meets the requirements and desires to serve in the capacity of School Board Director should submit a Letter of Interest, including complete contact information (address, phone and email), by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, to: Mrs. Linda Doane, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, Educational Service Center (105 E. Evergreen Rd., Lebanon, PA 17042). Please include a brief summary of your desire to serve on the CLSD Board and any other relevant information you would like to share.

Requirements for this Board appointment are as follows. The applicant must:

·   be a citizen of the U.S.; and,

·    be at least 18 years of age; and,

·    have resided within the Cornwall-Lebanon School District for a minimum of one year.

Interviews are scheduled to be held at the start of the Public Work Session, February 6, 2023, beginning at 5:30 PM. Board appointment will occur at the February 13, 2023, regular meeting of the Board of School Directors. Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in the LGI at Cedar Crest High School.

According to PA School Code, the vacancy will be filled by majority vote of the remaining Board of School Directors and the seat will be filled “until the first Monday of December after the first municipal election” following the vacancy (i.e., December 4, 2023). The remaining two years of Mrs. Levendoski’s term will be filled by a candidate to be elected at the General Election in November 2023.
