As part of a partnership program with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, some students at Cedar Crest High School went through the application process to become Bigs to students in Cedar Crest Middle School. Interns were selected by BBBS. Recently, they attended the Big Brother Big Sister of the Capital Region’s 2nd Annual Youth Leadership Summit: Youth Rise, Stand Together. About 200 students from 17 area high schools in Lebanon, York, Lancaster, Dauphin, and Cumberland counties also attended the November 13 summit.
Students participated in breakout sessions to discuss leadership and networking opportunities with more than 200 other high school Bigs and community leaders from Cumberland, Dauphin, York, and Lebanon Counties. An afternoon panel discussion featured Tara Davis from the Central PA Foodbank; Chris Franklin, Harlem Globetrotters coach; and Blake Lynch, One+ Strategies lobbyist. James Crummel from ABC 27 was a panelist moderator.
