The http://www.poetryoutloud.org/ encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. This year, more than 7,000 students in over 100 high schools across the Commonwealth participated in this exceptional contest. Students must recite their poem from memory. Judges consider accuracy, physical presence, voice and articulation, interpretation, evidence of understanding, and overall performance in selecting the winner.
