Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Act 59)
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. If this happens, blood stops flowing to the brain and other vital organs. If SCA is not treated quickly, it can result in death. In May 2012, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania adopted the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Act (Act 59).
