INTRO

Good Morning, Cedar Crest. Today is Tuesday, December 17th. Coming up, we'll give NHS members more information about the Christmas events tomorrow.

Also, we'll tell you why you should join colorguard.

In class news,

Seniors should make sure to sign up for the Second Annual Falcon Alumni Panel Discussion on Thursday, January 9th as soon as possible. This is a great resource for finding out whatever you need to know about life in college.

Project LIFE exit interviews are soon beginning for seniors. You should have already received your interview date, but if not, you should see Mr. Shaffer in the main office as soon as possible. Interviews are mandatory and cannot be rescheduled. Make sure you have completed all Project LIFE requirements and bring your laptop and paperwork to your interview.

Juniors interested in preparing for the spring college entrance exams are encouraged to sign up for the SAT/ACT workshop that will run on Saturdays during February leading up to the March SAT. To get the registration form or learn more about the workshop please stop by the counseling office.

The freshman class is selling tickets to see Elf at the Allen Theatre on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Tickets are $8. See Mr. Sinico to buy one or for more information.

In addition, Congratulations to Hannah Richardson for becoming the 2020-2021 Region 15 FBLA Vice President and Cassie Miller for being elected as the Region Secretary.

Kite Club and Drama Club members should see Dr. Gernert or Mrs. Haines for information for the Washington, D.C. trip in March.

Anime Club members should see Dr. Gernert for information about the 2020 Zenkaikon and the anticipated trip to Lancaster in March.

Drama Club members should see Dr. Gernert or Mrs. Haines for information about the anticipated trip to see 12 Angry Jurors in February.

There will be a SFC pancake breakfast in room 310 Wednesday morning at 7am, and there will be a special Christmas celebration during the SFC meeting on Wednesday during activity period. Don't miss this special time together. All interested students are welcome. Also, don't forget to pick up your free candy during lunch on Tuesday, compliments of SFC.

In school news,

The nursing office is running low on ice packs because they are not being returned. Please return ice packs as soon as possible. Thank you for your help.

Due to updated guidance from the Department of Education and the USDA, small water bottles will no longer be free at lunch with a program meal. Potable [pronounced POTE-ABLE] water and cups will be made available in dispensers in the cafeteria as of January 2nd.

Kutztown University is offering a one-day, hands-on graphic design camp to introduce students to design as a career. You will explore your creativity and critical thinking skills, as well as learn how you can impact society through design. This camp is Saturday, January 11th, but you must register in December. The cost is $10 and lunch is provided. Register online at the link below.

Tomorrow-- Winter Wonderland, wear white
Thursday-- Jingle Bells, wear Christmas colors and holiday bling
Friday-- Deck the Halls, wear your ugliest Christmas sweater

Thurs: Say hi to an old friend that you haven't seen in a while
Fri: Thank the cafeteria staff

FEATURE

You may have seen colorguard perform with the band at football games this year, but what you might not know is colorguard also has a winter season. Correspondent Alyssa Starks sat in on a practice to see what indoor guard looks like. <video clip>

In sports news,

Girls basketball took down Lebanon 60-54 last night.

The bowling team won last night against Manheim.  It was a fight to the end, but the Falcons came out with a victory.  On Wednesday the Falcons take on Conestoga Valley.  Come join the fun.

The wrestling team take on manheim at 3:30 pm tonight come out and support

The boys basketball team looks to remain perfect against cross-town rival Lebanon tip off is 7 pm show up and support the theme is USA.

The Cedar Crest Athletic Department is hosting an intramural basketball league during the months of January and February. The league is open to students in grades 9-12. See Mr. Groff if you're interested.
