Due to high temperatures forecast for tomorrow and an unexpected delay from Met-Ed in energizing the newly installed electrical service at Cedar Crest High School, the building will not be adequately cooled for learning and teaching to occur after midday on Thursday.
As a result, Cedar Crest High School only will operate on a hybrid schedule for Thursday, April 16, 2026:
In-person instruction as usual: Morning only
Early dismissal: 11:11 a.m. (Student lunches will be served prior to dismissal.)
Afternoon: Flexible Instruction Day (FID) completed at home. High school students will receive additional instructions from administrators and teachers regarding expectations for the afternoon FID.
CTC Students:
Full day or PM CTC students who have a ride or are drivers are expected to attend CTC classes as usual.
Full day CTC students who require District transportation home, should return to CCHS with the AM CTC students to be dismissed from CCHS at 11:11 a.m.
PM CTC students who require District transportation home, will be excused from attending their CTC program tomorrow and will be dismissed with all CCHS students at 11:11 a.m.
All after-school athletic activities are still on. Student-athletes should look for communication from their coaches for any specific updates to times of events.
All other District schools will follow their normal full-day schedule.
