Cedar Crest High School seniors Sarah Gerhart and Tyler Do have been selected as Cornwall-Lebanon School District’s September 2026 Students of the Month. The students were recognized during a Lebanon Rotary luncheon and at the September meeting of the Cornwall-Lebanon School District Board of School Directors in recognition of their academic accomplishments, character, leadership, service, and involvement in the school and community.
Sarah Gerhart, a member of the Cedar Crest High School Class of 2027, has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and service throughout her high school career. She has served as class president since entering high school, helping organize fundraisers, senior activities, and other events for her classmates. She also is involved in Students for Christ, Aevium, Key Club, National Honor Society, Big Star Little Star, and Mini-THON.
Gerhart is a three-year varsity tennis player and currently serves as team captain. Outside of school, she works with younger children as a dance assistant and volunteers through her church. Her academic accomplishments include consistent Principal’s List recognition, an AP Scholar Award, and College Board School Recognition for Outstanding Academic Achievement. She plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a degree in elementary education to become an elementary school teacher.
“I hope to make a positive difference in the lives of people around me,” shared Gerhart. “As an elementary school teacher, I want to create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. I know that teachers have a much bigger impact on students than just what they teach academically, and I want to be someone my students can look back on positively.”
Tyler Do, also a member of the Class of 2027, balances a rigorous academic schedule with extensive involvement in athletics, music, service, and student organizations. He participates in soccer, tennis, National Honor Society, Key Club, and Jazz Band. He also has been involved in World Languages Club, Model United Nations, and Quiz Bowl, among other activities.
Do has earned numerous academic and community honors, including the College Board AP Scholar Award, College Board School Recognition Award, Union League of Philadelphia’s Good Citizenship Award, and the University of Rochester Bausch + Lomb Honorary Science Award. He also completed the PULSE Medical Program at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, gaining hands-on exposure to the medical field. He plans to attend college and pursue a career in medicine.
Both students have also demonstrated a commitment to serving others. Gerhart has volunteered with younger children through church and mentoring programs, while Do has volunteered with WellSpan Health and Key Club, participating in community events, environmental efforts, and service projects.
