Campus construction led to a few obstacles for the Falcon Fair, including no electric for the Nacho stand - what to do?! Science teacher, Kyle Nazarchuk, saved the day by providing solar power that kept the Aevidum Nacho stand in business. Thanks, Mr. Nazarchuk! #FalconFacultyPride

During "Digital Citizenship" week, Dr. Stumphy taught a lesson to help students engage with AI thoughtfully and critically. In academic settings, she wanted students to remain the primary drivers of their own thinking, rather than relying on machines to process information for them. Below is a little info about the lesson.

This lesson encouraged students to become discerning users of AI who can recognize the difference between using it as a virtual assistant and depending on it as a cognitive shortcut. Students interacted directly with a chatbot, exploring its responses and capabilities. As a class, they discussed the distinction between AI as a virtual assistant and as a form of cognitive offload, as well as strategies for prompting AI to act as a partner in learning. In a follow-up analysis, students reflected on how the AI provided (or failed to provide) relevant information, the ways it attempted to anticipate their needs and steer the conversation, and the overall quality and reliability of the information it produced.
