Congratulations to Carson Martin, who was recognized as South Lebanon Elementary School's Student of the Year for 2024-2025.Carson is the son of Ashley and Zachary Martin of South Lebanon Township.
Principal Brown presented Carson to the CLSD Board of School Directors at its regular meeting in March. He had asked Carson’s current and former teachers for insights into the character that Carson has shown to be nominated for this award. Common themes emerged in the responses from his teachers and included words like: “Respectful,” “caring,” “driven,” and “confident.”
Dr. Brown said that Carson had told him that among his fondest memories at South Lebanon were the times he spent as the mascot for the Shine at 9 news program. “He also shared that while he enjoyed all of his teachers, he especially enjoyed the way that Mrs. Wine made learning fun while showing kindness,” said Dr. Brown.
Carson also addressed the School Board and guests, saying he is interested in some new opportunities as he transitions to middle school and is even considering trying out for the swim team when he gets older. He is excited about the idea of getting out of school earlier when he transitions to Cedar Crest Middle School ... even though he is not a morning person and doesn’t want to start school earlier in the day.
Best wishes as you move upward to the Middle School in the fall, Carson! Your accomplishments throughout elementary school have brought a tremendous sense of pride and happiness to everyone at South Lebanon Elementary.
