If you ask Piper O’Hara’s teachers to share more about her character, common themes emerge—she’s respectful, caring, kind, confident, and a deserving recipient of the South Lebanon Elementary School Student of the Year honor for the 2025-2026 school year.

On Monday, Feb. 9, South Lebanon Principal Mark Brown presented Piper with her Student of the Year plaque at the Board of School Directors meeting.

“Piper’s accomplishments through elementary school have brought a tremendous sense of pride and happiness to all of us at South Lebanon,” Brown shared.

Beyond excelling in the classroom, Piper was involved in band, chorus, Fifth Avenue Falcons, Spanish club, chess club, pickleball club, string art club, Challenge 24 club, and IU 13 gym buddies. She also participated in the district spelling bee. As she moves to Cedar Crest Middle School, Piper looks forward to making new friends and continuing to play in band. Her dream is to become an elementary art teacher and would love to return to serve the students of South Lebanon Elementary School.

During her remarks to the Board, Piper shared thanks to her teachers who have made an impact on her educational journey. “It was a surprise and an honor to be able to come here this evening,” she said.
