15 6th grade musicians with their instruments posing on a stage atPMEA District 7 Youth Honors Band concert

Kudos to the fifteen CCMS 6th grade student musicians who were accepted into the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 7 Youth Honors Band.

The top 5th and 6th graders from 30 Central PA schools combined to perform a concert on November 22 at Manheim Central Middle School. The students rehearsed in the morning and afternoon and performed in the evening.

Cedar Crest Middle School had the most students selected for the honor band out of all 30 schools attending!

The purpose of the Youth Honors Band is to provide an enriching musical experience for outstanding fifth and sixth grade band students in the schools located in PMEA District 7. The focus is on an educational experience rather than a competitive approach.
