10-7-2025, 2:45 PM UPDATE to Social Media Concern:

"Good afternoon, Cornwall-Lebanon Families. This is Philip Domencic, superintendent.

This is a follow-up to the communication earlier today.

The social media threat reported at Cedar Crest Middle School this morning has been investigated, and it has been determined that this was not a valid threat and that no one was ever in any danger. However, we take all of these incidents seriously. We also recognize the concern and anxiety that this can create.

Thanks to the cooperation of our students, school and local police departments, and our administrators, we have been able to identify the individual responsible for the social media account on which the statement was posted. The school district and local law enforcement will further address this situation according to the law and school district policy.

Parents/guardians are urged to be aware of the social media accounts their children are using, along with the minimum age and other requirements associated with registering for these accounts.

Cornwall-Lebanon School District encourages students and their parents to immediately report any safety concerns to a school administrator, school police officer, school counselor, teacher or other employee; or, to anonymously call the Safe2Say tip line, 1-844-723-2729.

This morning, the District was informed of threatening statements posted by individuals on social media regarding Cedar Crest Middle School. We take all reports like this seriously and immediately notified our school police department and local police departments who are actively working together to investigate and address this situation promptly and thoroughly.

As an added precaution, the district has requested additional law enforcement presence on the Cedar Crest campus during the school day today, Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025. The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority at all times.

We appreciate the families who reached out to make us aware of the social media statements. Students and their parents are encouraged to immediately report any safety concerns to a school administrator, school police officer, school counselor, teacher or other employee; or, to anonymously call the Safe2Say tip line, 1-844-723-2729.
