Congratulations to CCMS Falcon Ensemble which was selected to perform at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) 2025 Eastern Division Conference this April in Hartford, Conn.!
This is the first CLSD performing group to have earned a place in the NAfME Eastern Division Conference, and one of only two middle schools in the entire northeastern U.S. selected to perform at the biannual conference.
An auditioned band at Cedar Crest Middle School, Falcon Ensemble is comprised of musicians in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, under the direction of Mr. Jared Daubert.
The Eastern Division encompasses the northeastern United States, from Delaware through Maine. Top collegiate and university band directors in a double-blind peer review evaluated recordings of the Falcon Ensemble submitted by Mr. Daubert last summer. Only 16 groups were selected from among the hundreds who submitted recordings.
“Auditioning for and being able to perform at this conference representing 11 states and Washington D.C. is a high honor for our band family,” Mr. Daubert shared at a recent Board meeting honoring Falcon Ensemble student musicians. “An honor that helps cement our band program as one of the best in the state and beyond. This is a moment of distinction for our school district, music department, and these students. This performance opportunity will display the excellence of our student musicians well beyond the borders of out district.”
At the meeting, Mr. Daubert also thanked all the parents, families, staff and administration that helped to make this trip possible, many of whom will be helping to chaperone the event.
