Cornwall-Lebanon School District uses a Response to Intervention approach to help students who have academic or behavioral challenges in school. Academic screening is done routinely and data are analyzed to determine which students may require additional support. Examples of measures include Dibels, 4-Sight, Benchmark assessments and work products. In addition, programs are in place to address the needs of students who are at risk for developing behavioral challenges. The goal of Response to Intervention is to prevent or remediate academic and/or behavioral problems. In the process of providing interventions, teachers, parents, and other school personnel such as intervention specialists and learning facilitators work to provide research based interventions designed to address skill deficits. For more information, contact the principal or learning facilitator in your building.
