Article 1. Purpose

Cornwall-Lebanon School District is committed to facilitating access to district instruction,
communication, research, and business processes, while enhancing community building for the
broadest possible audience. The district strives to employ principles of Universal Design and use
the Web Accessibility Technical Guidelines (WA Technical Guidelines) and standards in the
design, implementation, enhancement, and replacement of Web content and services. In doing
so, the district aims to improve access to both current and emerging technologies.

Article 2. Scope

These guidelines applies to all district web pages used to conduct core district business or
academic activities. These guidelines do not apply to web pages published by students,
employees, or non-district organizations that are hosted by the district but are not used to conduct core district business or academic activities.

Article 3. Policy

All new and redesigned district web pages published after July 1, 2017 must be in compliance
with the technical guidelines set forth on the district website, unless granted an exception under Article IV of this policy. District web pages published before July 1, 2017 must assess
compliance with the technical guidelines provided on the district website and submit a review
summary and remediation plan to address any areas of non-compliance to technology services by June 30, 2018. Voluntary adoption of current technical guidelines provided on the district
website encouraged for all other web pages not covered by these guidelines.

Article 4. Exceptions

Departments seeking an exception to these guidelines must submit a written request to
technology services, detailing why compliance is not feasible and how the department will make
information from its web pages available to individuals with a disability in an equally effective
manner.

Article 5. Complaints

Complaints regarding accessibility of district web pages should be directed to technology
services. Technology services is responsible for investigating complaints of non-compliance and
for referring non-compliant websites.

Article 6. Violations

District web pages in violation of these guidelines will be referred to technology services for
remediation. Remediation efforts may include removal of the site from the Internet until the web page is in compliance with this policy.
